A prolific western writer of extraordinary tales, Charlie Steel joined The Lakeshore Guardian as a guest writer, and his stories are guaranteed to transport the reader back in time to the dramatic conflicts of the great West, where his life-like characters face many battles and often attempt to do what is right. 

Steel is the author of Three Days Under the Sun and Desert Heat, Desert Cold, and Other Tales of the West, as well as a plethora of other great books, and is an internationally published writer of Westerns, historical novels, and many short stories.

He is a member of Western Writers of America, Western Fictioneers, and the Zane Grey’s West Society. Steel holds five academic degrees, including a Ph.D., and lives on an isolated ranch at the base of Greenhorn Mountain in Southern Colorado, where his inspiration is as limitless as the Colorado sky.
