What we do

Watching Over The Shoreline Interests

The Lakeshore Guardian is the shoreline’s “Good News” newspaper, dedicated to celebrating the unique local history of Michigan’s Thumb Region and along Lake Huron’s shore. Each issue is filled with a plethora of articles focusing on Michigan history on land and lake (and under it!) as well as educational and informational articles on topics ranging from health and wellness and reminiscences of the good ole days to gardening, the great outdoors, honoring veterans, and so much more!

Kind Things Readers Say...

Just a note my friend and I went for a drive from Pt. Sanilac to Pt. Aux Barques Lighthouse and Museum. Reading the sign boards and seeing the boat house were greatly enhanced since I had read the Janet Stein story in your publication.
The surfboat's men lifesaver's station was a nice part of our day exploring. Thanks for the great stories.

I love reading each new issue of The Lakeshore Guardian. It's always full of intriguing history and photos, plus a variety of other interesting information. Keep them coming!

One of the main reasons I enjoy reading the Lakeshore Guardian is that they focus on the history and the people who have made and continue to make Huron County a great place to live. I like variety of subjects they cover. From shipwrecks, ships, lighthouses, local issues and events. They also use local individuals who volunteer their time and talents to write the articles. I happen to be fortunate to be one of those writers who share some of my recipes and knowledge of cooking skill in a column called “In the Kitchen” with Chef Dennis. I hope the Lakeshore Guardian is around for many more years sharing the “Good New.”
