  2. Michigan’s oldest agricultural business is the production of a product considered to be one of nature’s healthiest foods. This food is the first farm crop of the year to be harvested in Michigan and one that made a mark on American history. Native Americans were the first to master the production of this food, which made up about 12 percent of their total food intake. When the colonists arrived, the “liquid gold” sustained them, too. Name this product that ranks Michigan as the sixth largest producer of in the United States.

  3. Thoughtfully gazing over a field is a large metal bust of George Washington, with hair made of steel cable. This work of art, called “Watching the World Go By,” was fabricated at a nearby iron works located just west of a town known as the Sturgeon Capital of Michigan.
